Lonely Planet Readers Vote Ma Nolans Pub, Nice, France by Dublin-based Fineline Design Number Three on Great Bar World Ranking List.

In an online poll sponsored by Singha Beer and International travel guide, Lonely Planet Publications, readers have voted Ma Nolans Pub, Vieux Nice in the south of France number three out of more than 1,100 bars worldwide.

The pub, located on the sunny Coeur Soleil in the heart of the Old Town, was designed by fineline Design in 2005. Principal designer Denise Ryan explains "We were inspired by the architectural features of the building and set out to make the most of these. The brief from our client was to create a pub which happened to be Irish-owned, not necessarily

an Irish Pub. The result was very successful"

According to the voting website, "Ma Nolan’s has a large terrace, high vaulted ceilings, authentic bar counters and wooden floors. The atmosphere is always buzzing, generated by friendly staff, excellent beer and food, live music in the evenings and a genuinely warm, typically Irish welcome to all."

Following the success of Ma Nolans Vieux, fineline Design created a second pub overlooking the Port in Nice for client, Thady Nolan: "Fineline always deliver stunning results while keeping the bars utterly functional and meticulously well planned out. Fineline Design was founded by Denise Ryan in 2000 and specialises in the design of bars, restaurants & hotels in Ireland, Europe & the U.S.. Recent local projects include Morilles Bistro at the landmark Yellow House in Rathfarnham and The Wild Goose Grill in Ranelagh. They have also recently won an award for their design of The Organic Supermarket in Blackrock.
